About Us
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the practice of applying the principles of behavior theory to produce socially significant behavior change. ABA focuses on systematically identifying environmental events that impact our behavior and modifying these in such a way that it produces favorable outcomes – in essence, figuring out what we do, why we do it, and how we can change it to do something different. Although ABA is often used to eliminate and modify problem behavior, through understanding why behavior happens, ABA also focuses on teaching functionally equivalent appropriate behaviors that replace the problem, and thus creates long-term changes that last in multiple environments. Known for its applications in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, ABA is also effective at targeting a multitude of behavioral and learning challenges in both neurotypical individuals and those with diagnoses outside of the autism spectrum.
